National Day of Prayer 2024

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we gather as a prayer team for this National Day of Prayer, we stand in solidarity blessing you and thanking you for being our counselor, our friend, our redeemer. We ask that you continue to protect this country we live in, continue to protect and guide us and move in our lives so that we can do your will – so that we can continue to walk with you.

Oh LORD, lift up the politicians that we’ve elected to serve us, may they serve us in a manner that pleases you LORD and guide them to do the next right thing in your service. May you continue to guide us towards your light, and away from the darkness of sins of gluttony, pride, jealousy, and hatred. Show us how to love, show us how to treat others as you would, instill in us the dedication to you, oh HEAVENLY FATHER.

Protect those who are lost and protect those who love the ones who are lost from the pain of loving people who are lost. Show us how to bring the lost sheep back into the flock so that we can as one body glorify you. Show us how to coexist in peace with one another, that we may seek only you and not dispute over territory, resources, money, or land. All of the world is yours, and we thank you for creating our home, and a land that was created with the ideals of freedom, even if they’re not being clearly observed. May you teach us all as a nation how to return to your ways, as we’ve clearly strayed.

May our words be in service to you only, LORD, free of slander, gossip, and false witness. Guide us that our words should match our hearts, and speak only of the goodness that you have taught us, so that we may lift up the rest of our body as one body in your church.

Once again we thank you for everything, your sacrifices, your love, and your compassion. We lift up our broken, our sick, and our poor to be blessed by you, to be shown the greatness that you have in store for all of us, and that we may continue to be illuminated by your glory.

In your holy and precious name we pray.

Amen.
